Email and Anti-Spam Policy

The Customer must not send or promote the sending of unsolicited bulk messages over the Internet and must take reasonable measures to ensure that Service is not used by others for this purpose. Users must also comply with the provisions of section 45(1) of the ECT Act, and must not send or promote the sending of unsolicited commercial communications that do not comply with the provisions of section 45(1) of the ECT Act of South Africa and the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.

Mass Mailings - The Customer may not send mass unsolicited e-mail, which is email that is sent to recipients who have not Confirmed Opt-In or Closed-Loop Opt-In in to mailings of the Customer. 

Mailing Lists - The Customer shall not operate mailing lists, listservs, or mailing services that do not target an audience that has voluntarily signed up for e-mail information using a Confirmed Opt-In or Closed-Loop Opt-In process or that has made their e-mail addresses available to the Customer for distribution of information.

Other prohibited activities include, without limitation, the following:

  • Use of the Service for the receipt of replies to unsolicited mass e-mail.
  • Forgery of e-mail headers ("spoofing").
  • Spamming via third-party proxy, aggregation of proxy lists, or installation of proxy mailing software.
  • Hosting web pages advertised within "spam e-mail" sent from another network ("spamvertising").
  • Hosting web pages or providing services that support spam.
  • Any Customer-maintained mailing list must also allow any party on the list to remove itself automatically and permanently.
